07: Jubilee Outreach Yorkshire

Since discovering Whywaste some 6 months ago Jubilee Outreach Yorkshire (JOY) have received a large quantity of office and related equipment from Bradford Council. The vast majority has been distributed to Romania and the Ukraine where they are used in clinics, hospitals, homes for elderly people and children's homes.

As food parcels are sent every Christmas, some of the steel storage cabinets have provided temporary secure pest free storage at The JOY Warehouse in Shipley. 3 cabinets are used by the Horton Outreach Charitable Company in Bradford 7 which provides day care for elderly people and training for people with a variety of educational needs.

JOY sends a vast range of medical, food, and other items and the items received through Whywaste have supplemented all this and provided a source of office and other equipment otherwise unavailable. They are currently looking into the possibility of sending mattresses advertised by Ikea on Whywaste to Sierra Leone via a sister organization based in Sheffield.
